The Company
Our client is one of the largest suppliers of concrete masonry products in North America. The vast product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, wall systems, garden products etc.
Job Role
This role will work very closely with the production team to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
- Compliance to the standards of quality while testing and inspecting raw materials and finished goods
- Responsible to perform compression, absorption, density and moisture; weight and sieve tests, durability testing and other testing as required
- Maintain database and documentation of lab test results and recommend process improvements
- Actively participate in all safety meetings and ensure compliance with the safety standards set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies
- Advise the management of any hazardous conditions along with recommendations for continuous improvement and operational excellence
Essential Experience
- Post-Secondary education or Diploma of Technology
- Experience with plastic and hardened properties of concrete testing is highly preferable
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Detail oriented, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding to operate multiple testing equipments, machines and mixers
- Ability to work and create a safe environment by following safety procedures
- Ability to lift 100 pounds (40 kgs) – required sometimes
