Purchaser/Buyer (Aviation/Aerospace)

The Company

Looking for a highly motivated Purchaser/Buyer to join the expanding team of our client pioneered in aviation/aerospace industry, based in BC.

Ideal candidate is expected to have great attention to detail and be highly skilled in relationship management with Vendors, Suppliers and OEMs. 


Job Role

  • Ensure required material, parts & supplies are procured, expedited in a time & cost effective manner and made available in accordance with the schedule
  • Review and recommend improvements to procurement policies and procedures, wherever applicable 
  • Align supplier delivery schedule to meet financial commitments and achieve customer
  • Negotiate supplier agreements including long-term contracts
  • Advise the management of suppliers' performance and work with suppliers for operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Manage supplier forecast and PO acknowledgement process effectively
  • Ensure compliance and best procurement practices to pricing, quality standards and delivery schedule are aligned with company standards are adhered to at all times

Essential Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelors/Masters in Business Administration, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Aviation/Aerospace Industry
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g. JD Edwards, PeopleSoft or similar)
  • Experience with Aviation/Aerospace purchasing and inventory management is an asset.
  • Planning, negotiations and agreements/contract management experience is highly preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational & time management skills - ability to prioritize and do problem solving
  • Attention to detail, focused approach and ability to play with numbers 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
