Our client, a logistic giant specialising in warehousing and cold storage solutions, is expanding rapidly and in need of experienced professionals to manage the logistics and operations effectively.  

Job Role

This role will be primarily responsible for operating the Shunt Truck. The candidate is accountable for safe and efficient operation while operating the shunt for pick-up and delivery and spotting trailers. 

•  Safe and efficient movement of trailers in and out of dock doors to the warehouse yard
• Maintain routine communication with dispatch/yard control regarding the placement of trailers
• Conduct daily yard checks and maintaining shunt organization within facilities
• Maintain complete documentation of daily assigned shunts and inspection sheets
• Makes recommendations to management regarding the maintenance and repairs that are necessary to the shunt, forklift or other equipment.
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, dispatch and maintenance on daily shunting activities
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following OSHA standards and report damage to the supervisors
• Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work area
• Perform housekeeping and 5S duties
• Be prepared to carry out any other Warehousing duties, as required 

Essential Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse environment
• Valid Class 1 Shunt Driver License with clean driving record
• Valid forklift license is highly recommended
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
• Ability to work under cold and freezing (-24 Deg C) temperature
• Ability to lift upto _______ lbs with proper technique
• Basic computer knowledge
• Multi-tasking and proficiency in reading and counting numbers
